Introduction
This is a technically focused commercial role, supporting sales with quotations, costings, and solution development for automation, control, and drive systems. You will act as the link between sales and engineering, translating customer requirements into robust technical proposals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quotations, costings, specifications, and proposals.
- Configure automation and control solutions from customer requirements.
- Estimate engineering resources, equipment, and project requirements.
- Produce system topologies and supporting technical documentation.
- Act as the technical interface between sales and engineering teams.
- Attend customer surveys, tender meetings, and site visits as required.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or similar.
- Understanding of industrial automation and systems integration.
- Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI, variable speed drives, or control systems.
- Strong technical writing and proposal preparation skills.
- Commercial awareness to understand project costs and scope.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.
