Introduction
This is a hands-on engineering role, supporting a busy production environment through the maintenance, manufacture, repair, and modification of tooling. The role would suit someone with strong conventional machining experience and a practical engineering mindset. This is a long-term, stable opportunity within an established manufacturing business.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and modify tooling components from drawings or existing parts.
- Repair and maintain production tooling.
- Operate conventional machinery, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
- Support production teams with tooling issues and breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot tooling and production problems.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and health and safety.
- Ensure tooling and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Support production.
Requirements
- Experience operating conventional machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Previous toolmaking or tooling maintenance experience.
- Ability to repair, modify, and manufacture tooling components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Practical, hands-on engineering approach.
- Experience in toolmaking, tooling maintenance, conventional machining, or similar.
- Confident reading engineering drawings and working practically in manufacturing.
