Introduction

This is a hands-on engineering role, supporting a busy production environment through the maintenance, manufacture, repair, and modification of tooling. The role would suit someone with strong conventional machining experience and a practical engineering mindset. This is a long-term, stable opportunity within an established manufacturing business.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and modify tooling components from drawings or existing parts.
  • Repair and maintain production tooling.
  • Operate conventional machinery, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
  • Support production teams with tooling issues and breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot tooling and production problems.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and health and safety.
  • Ensure tooling and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
  • Support production.

Requirements

  • Experience operating conventional machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Previous toolmaking or tooling maintenance experience.
  • Ability to repair, modify, and manufacture tooling components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical, hands-on engineering approach.
  • Experience in toolmaking, tooling maintenance, conventional machining, or similar.
  • Confident reading engineering drawings and working practically in manufacturing.
